After five years in our Williamsburg apartment, my husband and I are sadly moving outside of the city, and are looking for someone to move into our incredible Covid-deal rent-stabilized apartment at the same fixed rate well below market value.
The apartment is at 50 N 5th St, a doorman building on the corner of N. 5th St. and Wythe Ave with a gym, basketball court, dog run, courtyard, roof deck, and co-working space. (I know, insane.) Dog friendly! Elevator!
It’s a south-facing one bedroom unit. The other vacant one-beds in our building are going for $5,695 right now, but ours is rent-stabilized at $4,547.34 per month, which is what the new tenant would pay.
For now, you would be taking over the last six months of our lease until July, but you would sign directly with the building and the lease would be reassigned to you (not a sublet technically). You’d be free to leave in July, but the building is legally required to offer you a lease renewal at the same, reduced cost (as long as you’re in good standing, aka not in legal trouble with the building.) (If you’re curious/ need proof of this insane deal lol, the building’s lease assignment instructions are here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jForrkYEL2USyXI2ulL8wD9dMp3LeEoz/view?usp=sharing)
Photos of the building and a comparable unit are below, and the apartment website is here: https://50north5th.com/
To arrange a showing, text me Nora directly.
I'm the current renter for almost five years! So sad to leave the place.
The building will do an income check, and they do accept guarantors.
Pets allowed, dogs adored. Lots of treats from the doormen. Dog run at the building. Some breed restrictions but up for discussion.
