Celestine is a seasonally-focused Mediterranean restaurant on the Dumbo Waterfront. We offer thoughtful and elegant food with warm, unpretentious hospitality. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Restaurant Intern to support our Director of Operations and Owner across a wide range of projects. This is a hands-on, immersive internship perfect for someone eager to learn the ins and outs of what it really takes to run a restaurant. This position is flexible and part-time with an average of 15-20 hours per week paid out at $25 an hour.

In this role you may be asked to carry out the following

-Assisting in sourcing design elements, art, décor, supply items, and plateware
-Helping with menu development, layout, and design
-Supporting labor reporting and other administrative tasks
-Participating in vendor communications and research
-Tackling day-to-day projects and operational needs
-Daily administrative tasks including assisting the events and FOH management team
-Jumping into whatever projects come up—no two days will be the same

Who you Are:

-Energetic, curious, and eager to learn
-Organized and able to multitask
-Passionate about food, hospitality, and design
-Basic knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) is a plus
-Design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe, etc.) are a bonus, but not required
-Experience or interest in content creation, social media also a huge plus

This isn’t your average internship. You’ll gain first-hand exposure to what it takes to run a restaurant from the ground up. About Us

Celestine is a seasonal, Mediterranean-influenced restaurant and events venue on the DUMBO waterfront in Brooklyn.
Located just under the Manhattan Bridge, our restaurant offers sweeping views of both bridges and the downtown city skyline. While Mediterranean coastal cuisine is the cornerstone for our menu, we take inspiration from our own experiences within the industry and through our travels to create a highly seasonal menu that’s as appropriate for an easy Tuesday night as it is for a special occasion.

Our wine list focuses on small, natural producers that we love. Our bar program focuses on approachable riffs on classic cocktails. We are proud to be located within a LEED Gold Certified building and to be a part of the DUMBO community.
