Hello! I'm seeking a roommate to fill one room in a two-bedroom apartment in Kensington. Rent is $1000/mo + about $100 for utilities, move-in July 1st.
🔹About the Apartment🔹
Second floor walk-up
Shared spaces in the unit include a foyer with two sizable closets, a spacious living room, one bathroom, and an eat-in kitchen
Half a block from the F train, and about a twenty-minute walk to the Q train
The nearby F stop is above-ground, so there's some noise that comes with that
🔹About the Room🔹
Fairly cozy, but still has enough space to furnish comfortably
Well-lit with a couple of windows and an open view
Small closet
Will be unfurnished
🔹About the Neighborhood🔹
Quieter family neighborhood, lots of kids out playing during the day
Nearby basic necessities include: A Shoprite and an Amazing Savings a few blocks away, several laundromats, and a good number of smaller shops and bodegas
Ocean Parkway is down the block and is great for walking and biking and such
Not a ton of bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but it's about a twenty-minute walk to more active areas, and a few subway stops from the Prospect Park/Park Slope area
Rose (They/Them)
I'm a salaried bookseller and receiver at an indie book shop (so I get a lot of free books!)
My job is on-site and full-time with a very predictable schedule
I work to keep shared spaces relatively tidy, though I do have a fair amount of knick-knacks and decor. And books of course =P
Huge nerd, former theater kid, runner. I love board games, writing, drawing, and other creative activities. Also I'm saving up to hopefully get my EMT certification in the Fall
Looking to create a communal, communicative roommate relationship where both of us feel comfortable and at-home. I value a space where partners/friends/family are welcome to hang out or stay over, of course with communication and boundaries specific to each situation!
Tenant
-LGBTQ+ or enthusiastic allies only please!
-Preferably not WFH full time
-First month's rent and deposit for move-in (2000 total)
-Proof of income, possible credit check, possible request for rent receipts/landlord rec
-Currently month-to-month--the landlord lives in the apartment below, she is very sweet and chill, so as long as we're paying rent on time and not throwing loud parties we're golden
-No pets unfortunately =(
