Apartment details:

Its a large unit (about 1,000 sq ft) on the second floor with a private entrance in a 10 unit apartment building. It's unique because it's the original building manager's unit, so it's not sharing walls with the other units and lies above the unit parking garage.

Your bedroom has two south-east facing windows that get tons of palm-frond-filtered light. It can accommodate a queen bed, desk, & bookshelf for sure. The closet has a hanger bar and a mirrored door.

The shared area is a spacious, open floor plan living room + kitchen and great for hosting and socializing, and it seamless flows out to the large covered patio that offers an additional space to spend your time.

Located in a quiet, tree-lined street near the border of Glendale and Atwater Village, this apartment is close to all the cute commercial districts nearby:

Me: I'm a mid-thirties freelancer in the entertainment industry, primarily working as a costumer. I grew up in LA & Santa Fe, NM and spent my early 20s in NYC. In my free time I enjoy cooking, making my own clothes, walking, hiking and going to yoga, dance class & arts events. Once a month I host a community crafting hang where friends come over and work on their own projects together. Community is very important to me. I'm not a big partier but love occasionally going out for cocktails or hosting friends for a birthday or dinner party. I don't "bring the party home." Its very important to me to keep common spaces respectfully clean and organized, through I am not a neat freak. I live best with someone who shares that outlook.

You: Late 20s-early 40s. Mature, with ability to communicate with ease about issues as they come up. Able to cover rent without issue. Neat and open to creating a shared cleaning plan. Hopefully share a desire to make the space feel like home and enjoy each other's company but also give each other the space we need. The bedrooms are close together, so looking for someone who is self-aware, thoughtful and reasonable about being respectfully quiet at the appropriate times. I've had really wonderful experiences with roommates in the past who've become friends and that would be ideal! But also open to less involved set-up. What matters to me the most is maintaining a warm, supportive environment where we both can come home and feel at ease. Major plus if you love food and enjoy occassionally cooking/eating together!
