Room in classic Eastern Parkway building is available for rent on May 1.

Rent is $1300 + 1/2 electricity, which ranges from a minimum of $120 to higher in summer months.

I am posting this on behalf of my 75-year-old mother, who has been living in the apartment for 44 years. She would be your roommate. She supports the Glasgow Celtic and Arsenal. She also reads a lot.

The room is big enough for a queen bed and a desk. The closet is quite big. The bathroom is as appears in the photos--sorry the photos were taken at night, but the sixth floor apartment (top floor in the building) gets plenty of light. The room faces the back courtyard. All your personal belongings should fit in the bedroom as there is no additional space for furniture, dishes, etc., in the apartment. A few pots or pans, a favorite blender, etc. are fine.

Please reply with some information about yourself. The current tenant is moving out on April 26, so scheduling a viewing will be dependent on a few different schedules.

The process: I'll email you to set up a phone screening, you'll view the apartment with my mum and my sister, who visits frequently, my mum will let me know who she has selected, I'll check your references, and you'll move in. My goal will be to bring in 3 or 4 people over the course of one or two days, so you'll know quickly if you got it or not.

My mum is 75 years old. She's a former runner and avid reader. Her biggest passion is the Glasgow Celtic with Arsenal as a close second. She can talk trades, coaches, etc. She smokes about 3 cigarettes a day in her bedroom next to an open window.

She has three adult children. I live in Dayton, OH. My oldest sister lives in WI. The middle sibling is in Newark, NJ, but teaches in Crown Heights and visits frequently.

I bring my pet cat when I visit, otherwise there are no pets in the apartment.
