I'm looking to rent an extra room in my cozy Astoria apartment. The apartment is one of four in a private house. I'm on the second floor at the back of the house. I am the leaseholder, and this would be month to month roommate agreement, but I would love to agree to a 3 month trial period and go from there.

The room is slightly bigger than 10x10 but that's a safe estimate. It doesn't have a ceiling light or closet but will fit a wardrobe and dresser with space for a bed, desk, end tables and lamps. I do have a clothing rack if you'd like to use it. The pictures are from a previous roommate so you can see how furniture could fit. I currently have a couch and my workout stuff in there. I'll move the couch into the common area.

The common areas are furnished but there could be room for more depending on what you have.

The apartment is a square, with the rooms on either side, so we don't share a wall, but you would share a wall with the other apartment on the floor. I have two rooms across from yours, a small bedroom and my studio. There is a common living/dining room, small kitchen with a small fridge (best for someone who cooks minimally) and shared bathroom. No pets and no smoking. I do most of my socializing outside of the apartment and would prefer that you do, too. Monthly rent includes electric, gas, wifi, and cleaning products/toilet paper. We can work out a deeper cleaning schedule but I prefer if spills are cleaned up immediately, dishes done as part of the making of the meal, and hair removed from the drain.

7 minute walk to the Ditmars stop on the N train so you'll always get a seat, and easy access to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and most major subway hubs. Busses to upper Manhattan and you can find street parking if you have a car. Grocery stores, laundromat, coffee shops, restaurants, pretty much everything you need including Astoria Park within a 5-10 minute walk.

Other than that, I am in my 40s, single, LGBTQ+, on the neurotypical side of the spectrum, and a friendly lone wolf who likes the occasional board or card game, going to the movies, museums, nature walks, yoga, etc.
