Room for Rent with Private Bath + Balcony in West Harlem

Rooms for Rent

$1,900/month

Available

June 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027

Neighborhood

West Harlem, New York

Transportation

A, B, C, D, 2, 3 Trains

The apartment is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit on the 7th floor of a 9-story building. The building has an elevator that opens directly into the apartment, which still feels like a luxury every time! The space feels quiet and private, even though the neighborhood itself is beautiful and lively.

The available room is in the back of the apartment (not street facing), so it’s one of the quietest units. It fits a full or queen bed comfortably and has a private bathroom that leads out to your own balcony. There’s a large east-facing window and a skylight above, so the room gets really nice light in the mornings. Closet space in the room is decent, and there’s extra storage built into the bathroom, which provides additional room.

The rest of the apartment is very spacious. There is large living room and kitchen with good storage, plus an extra cove area that's been used for working from home, reading, or just hanging out. There’s also a shared rooftop in the building that’s great when the weather’s nice.

Other basics:

Washer/dryer in unit
Dishwasher
Central AC units in each room
Package room + trash in the building

The vibe of the apartment is pretty relaxed. It’s a place to come back to and decompress. We keep things clean and organized and usually just rotate cleaning of common spaces and take turns picking up shared items.

I'm looking for someone who’s clean, kind, and respectful, and wants a home that feels restful and comfortable.

Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. It's right off the B and C lines at 116th, and close to the A, D, 2 and 3. It's also within a few steps of great coffee shops, grocery stores, and restaurants.

About This Lister

I’ve lived in New York City for the past 9 years and have called this apartment home for the last five.

I’m a pretty social, people-oriented person and enjoy getting to know the people I live with, but I also really value having a calm, easy space to come back to and recharge. The apartment tends to be more low-key overall.

I work in partnerships in the hospitality industry and work from home about 2–3 days a week, so I appreciate a space that’s comfortable and respectful during the day as well.

Outside of work, I really enjoy music, volleyball, trying new cuisines, and getting into a good TV show. I like a home that feels well taken care of. Keeping common areas clean is a high priority, and everyone has full ownership over their own room.

Overall, I value good communication and mutual respect. Nothing overly strict, just a shared understanding of how to live well together.
