Hi! I'm looking to sublet an unfurnished room in my beautiful, otherwise furnished two bedroom apartment, located in prime Ridgewood, off the Halsey L — a stone's throw from Topos Too and Low Cinema. It's a third-floor walk-up.

The apartment has wooden floorboards, lots of light, and a beautiful view of the city from the roof. Plus, a well-equipped kitchen. (No pets, sorry!)

The room is small-ish but could fit a full-sized bed plus dresser and/or small desk, and comes with built-in bookshelves (currently pretty full of books, but some could be moved). It also has fire escape access.

It's available from October 1, 2025 to October 1, 2026 on a month-to-month basis: I'm open to shorter or longer-term arrangements depending on the person and fit :-)

I'm a writer and film critic in my 30s, originally from NYC but grew up in Australia, and have only recently returned "home". I have a somewhat irregular schedule (and often WFH) but of an evening, I enjoy cooking and watching movies (ofc). I'm new to this apartment but I've always lived in places where a homey and sociable (and clean) atmosphere has been important.
