Beautiful 2b 1 bath in Brooklyn with high ceilings and natural light. The apartment has a large furnished living room. I (31w) and my cat love the place and are looking for a roommate for the second bedroom (unfurnished). You would be formally added to the lease.

The apartment is on the same block as a grocery store, gym, subway station (A, C, and S line), and bus stop. I travel to Manhattan regularly and have always found it an easy trip. The S means easy access to Prospect Park.

The landlord & their family live on the lower level and the building is geared toward family. The apartment is on the second floor. I work remotely from my bedroom/office but travel for work and spend several evenings a week out and about so there is a good mix of time at home and away.

I have a powerful AC unit and fans in communal areas. No central air or dishwasher. The current lease is through March with an option to renew. Utilities (internet and electric) would be split 50/50, my estimate is 50-100/month depending on whether AC is running. Hardwood floors, gas stove, large windows throughout, excellent sound dampening - I rarely hear neighbors. The communal areas are furnished so this is a perfect place if you are new to the area and don't have much furniture, but I am also flexible in terms of rearranging to accommodate new items.

Photos exclude my bedroom, include two views of the second bedroom, apartment photos are post move in, the apartment is typically tidier. The previous tenant fit a bed, dresser and desk in the second bedroom without difficulty.

I am the current lease holder. I am a 31 year old woman originally from Ohio with an older cat. I work in data analysis and policy evaluation. I have lived here since April and enjoy the apartment and location. My hobbies include painting, comedy, and cardio.

I am a pescatarian and non-drinker but do not mind a roommate with different preferences. There is no smoking/vaping allowed inside the apartment but there is shared entrance area/steps in front of the apartment.

Applicants will need to pass a background check and financial check (proof of income and may need to provide a bank statement) through the landlord. I will also screen applicants via interviews and the landlord will also interview applications.
