We’re looking for three additional artists to join a calm, well-loved shared lobby studio space at 81 Prospect Street in DUMBO.

The studio includes:
-Slop sink + low sink
-Elevators (easy load-in)
-Large work tables
-Sewing equipment
-Storage
-Refrigerator + electric tea kettle
-Couch for breaks, conversations, or staring into the middle distance

The space is especially great for textile artists, designers, makers, and musicians. Sound-wise and schedule-wise, it tends to be gentle and respectful.

We currently have three artists using the studio. In the past we’ve had up to seven renters total, but thanks to naturally staggered schedules, there are rarely more than two to three people working at the same time. It truly self-curates, which is part of the magic.

We use a shared calendar to note when we’ll be in the space and what our needs are during that time, which keeps everything running smoothly and communally.

About This Lister

I am a bridal designer with a (client facing) showroom upstairs. This is my secondary (back of house) space that I rent out so that artists can have an affordable and enjoyable place to work and create with one another. I do not want to be a landlord so being self reliant is key but I am also wildly accommodating and want this to be a lovely sustainable experience for everyone.
