About the Apartment: This is a fourth-floor walk-up located just five minutes from the Franklin Ave 2/3/4/5 trains. It’s a railroad style apartment, but none of the bedrooms share a wall. The layout moves from the first bedroom to an office, then a bathroom, then the available second bedroom, followed by the living room, kitchen, and finally the third bedroom at the back. The apartment was just freshly painted. The location is excellent, with plenty of coffee shops, laundromats, restaurants, and a community rec center/gym nearby. The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park are all a short walk away.

The Room: The room available is the second bedroom. It can just fit a full size bed and either a desk or a bookshelf. It’s small but cozy, and a calm space to come home to. You and the other housemate will have prioritized use of a shared office, with a storage closet, a pair of desks and chairs. You can also bring your own.

About You: You are kind, considerate, friendly, and a clear communicator. You’re able to pick up after yourself, and be respectful of the shared spaces. Ideally, you are BIPOC+Queer, someone who doesn’t work from home full time, and someone who has experience living with housemates. We prioritize a respectful, peaceful living environment!

Please respond a bit about yourself and we will reach out to schedule a FaceTime and/or in person viewing of the apt!

About This Lister

About Us: We’re a friendly, communicative, creative, and clean household. Santiago and Kaya (a couple) live in the large front bedroom, and Lu, a queer woman, lives in the third bedroom at the back of the apartment. Santiago and Lu are educators and Kaya works in the arts. We enjoy cooking (mostly vegetarian), exercising, reading, sharing meals, and talking together, though we each have our own independent routines. We’re a drama-free home and keep things calm on weeknights out of respect for everyone’s sleep schedules. We maintain a rotating chore chart to keep the shared spaces tidy and to make living with four people smooth and fair. We see home as a sanctuary and value open communication and harmonious coexistence.
