I’m subletting my spacious, light-filled first floor apartment in the quiet neighborhood of Burbank. I’m an artist and educator based in Los Angeles and will be traveling to SF for work this spring. The apartment is in a 6-unit mid-century building, with the laundry room just a few steps outside of the back entrance to the apartment. The second bedroom, which I use as my painting studio and will be fully empty and able to use as a studio or office, has a back door to the backyard which is shared by the building. There are two separate outdoor seating areas, one in the corner by my garden and another on a patio by the laundry. There’s a charcoal grill for use. The apartment has two AC units, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. You’ll have access to all of my kitchen appliances, dishware, TV, etc. All I ask is that the indoor plants are watered once per week. There's a chance my cat will be here and need care, in which case I'd discount the total amount 20%. He's an incredibly cuddly and funny black cat who sometimes goes outside with me on a harness and leash - his water and food are automatic and he can go several nights alone if needed.

I’m looking for a responsible, respectful person or couple to keep watch of and enjoy the apartment I’ve put much love and care into. This is a quiet neighborhood close to the 5 freeway, 15 minute drive to Hollywood, Los Feliz, Atwater Village, and Highland Park. The dates are negotiable–please reach out to me with any questions.

I'm Jen (she/her) and I’m a painter and educator based in Los Angeles and will be traveling for a residency in Europe during most of May and June. I've lived in Los Angeles for almost 3 years, having spent the previous 10 in NYC as an artist, curator, and arts administrator. I will be showing the space to serious applicants in April. The building is owned by a family that has one other building in Burbank. The building is very quiet and everyone is very respectful and clean, which is expected of the subletter. The other apartments in the building are rented by people in their 20s and 30s, everyone is very friendly. The front and back yards are maintained by landscapers weekly. I have many house plants and an extensive contemporary art collection that I expect subletters to respect and enjoy.
