Come and settle in to a cozy and comfortable home base this fall!
I am subletting my room in a 2 bedroom while I move upstate for work this fall. The room itself is quite large (11' x 15'2") and features a huge window for sunlight (and sometimes moonlight) views all throughout the day that looks out on a deck for the apartment. There is a queen bed and a large dresser available for use, as well as a cozy chair and table for meetings, reading, etc.
The apartment is located on the second floor of a brownstone in Crown Heights near the Kingston-Throop C train. It has a comfortable dining room with a separate living room and a full kitchen. A washer/dryer is available for use within the building for much cheaper than a laundromat.
The room is available for rent for $2000/month including all utilities + wifi. For the right person, I am willing to be flexible on the price and dates, especially if you are willing to take care of my plants while I am gone.
My roommate and I are looking for someone communicative, trustworthy, values-aligned, and compassionate, who will treat our home with the same care that we have for the last 4 years.
I am a doctoral student whose research focuses on food sovereignty and the Black radical tradition. I am passionate about cooking + baking, queer + arthouse cinema, and being in nature as much as possible
The roommate you will be living with is a Black queer woman in her thirties who works as an audio producer among many other creative side-projects, including beekeeping! She is looking for someone who like her, has their own busy life, but sees home as a sanctuary and is willing to be kind and considerate in sharing the space.
Rental will require proof of income, a sublease agreement and a $500 deposit (depending on the length of stay)
