Available April 12 is a beautiful room in a 2-bed apartment in Bedstuy for $1650/month! I have loved living here for the last year and am now leaving to move in with my partner :’)
Jefferson & Bedford—Close to the Nostrand A/C stop, as well as the Franklin S train that goes to Prospect Park, and not too far from the G either. It’s a lively neighborhood with an eclectic mix of communities converging, which I’ve really loved exploring. There are great bars (like Bad Luck), coffee shops (like Padmore’s), great eateries (like Ursula), Greene Hill Food Co-op, YMCA, and much more.
This room easily fits a queen bed plus desk, with room to spare. There’s a walk-in closet!!
One incredibly special thing about this room is that it has access to the private backyard (roommate Jack would like to be able to walk through your room when convenient to get to the backyard sometimes). There’s usually a hammock back there and big trees. We’ve cohosted a lot of nice BBQs and even a folk concert back there!
The common areas come fully furnished, though your personal touch is welcomed! Room is unfurnished. There’s laundry in the basement. Easy roof access, which has beautiful views.
Your roommate would be Jack, who I’ve come to be good friends with and really loved having as a roommate. I find him very conscientious, curious, and fun-loving. Here’s Jack in his own words:
“I’m a 28-year-old guy working in finance, usually up by 5 a.m. and in the office every weekday. I like hosting friends for dinner / parties, but I keep things clean, low-key on weeknights, and smoke-free. When I’m not working, I’m usually at foreign policy events, painting, or learning Spanish (I also speak German). I’m pretty structured during the week and usually in bed early, so I’m looking for a roommate who values a calm, respectful space. I’m hoping to live with someone who’s easygoing, considerate, and enjoys both connection and independence.”

To start, this would be a sublet between you and me until July 31. If it’s a good fit you’ll join the lease with Jack on Aug 1! First month ($1650) and security ($1600), and proof of income to move in. Utilities range from $70 in temperate months to $150 when you need a ton of AC or heating (split unit). Jack likes to have a cleaner come once per month, which costs $70/per person.
