Large, sunlit room available for a one-year lease sign on with one other roommate (me!) in a clean, art-filled, fully furnished apartment. My previous roommate is moving in with her boyfriend and I’m looking for someone responsible, organized, and communicative to take over the lease in her stead.
THE ROOM
is spacious (14x11') with high ceilings and plenty of room for a queen size bed, desk, dresser, etc. It has two tall windows, which look east over a quiet, tree-lined street. An extra personal door allows you to come and go from the apartment straight through the room.
THE APARTMENT
Is clean, decorated, and fully-furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher and microwave) and large bathroom. The living room is long and narrow, with two bedrooms at each end, providing space and privacy. The space and appliances are in good condition. The apartment is located on the second floor of the building, easily accessible via one short flight of stairs.
THE BUILDING
Is a three-floor walk up. Neighbors are all lowkey and considerate, hallways are litter-free and cleaned regularly. Management, while impersonal, has always made repairs as requested. The roof has gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Is right on the edge of Bushwick and Ridgewood - quiet yet close to the action. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the Dekalb L stop, grocery store, and several laundromats (there is no laundry in-building). Walk just a little bit south and you’re in the thick of the ‘wick, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars. 15 minutes South i the Knickerbocker M stop.
I'm a 25 year old man with a 9-5 in the art world. I work from home most Mondays and Fridays, and tend to keep an early schedule. In my free time, I paint, run, bike, go to museums and shows with friends, find what nature I can in the city, spend too much time watching YouTube shorts, look at the moon.
I enjoy being around creative, exciting, dedicated people with active interests. I'm highly organized and will live best with those who also care about keeping a neat, clean space.
I spend most of my time in the apartment cooking, cleaning, and dealing with miscellaneous chores. I like to keep the space primarily as an area to work and relax, and I try to get out of the house whenever possible.
Above all, I care deeply about keeping an organized and clean space, and will get along with a roommate who feels the same.
Guests should be kept within reasonable limits so that the apartment can be a place to unwind, especially during the work week.
You must meet standard income and credit requirements, and be able to put down a one-month security deposit.
Preference given to those able to meet in-person.
No preference on gender.
No pets, sorry.
Mid-twenties to mid-thirties preferable.
Cool interests and hobbies a plus :3
