The bedrooms are about 10ft by 10ft, and 12ft x 10ft, and furnished with a queen bed (larger room) and double bed (smaller room). Both have comfortable memory foam mattresses and shelves and drawers for storage.

About the apartment: It is a 2 bedroom, one bath apartment with wood floors, tall ceilings, a large open kitchen/dining room area with stainless steel appliances, and large sunny living room with fabulous office nook (great for working from home!). It is often described as spacious and cozy, with the perk of decent storage space (hard to find in NYC!). It is the second floor, first unit of the building, which only has three units total. It is directly above a cooking herbs store. The window of the bedrooms open to the fire escape and rooftops of businesses below - a very NY little escape. I sometimes venture onto the rooftops for beers and conversations with friends, or just for sunlight. Franklin Park Beer Garden is behind us, so this apartment is not ideal for a light sleeper. The living room is setup to be a nice place to hang -- with a DVD player, smart TV, record player, and even a CD player. There is an office nook with printer and some spare office supplies. There is no washer/dryer but there is a 24hr laundry mat on the block. There is also no dishwasher so be prepared for hand-washing cleanup. The apartment does not have a microwave. The shower has excellent water pressure and hot water consistency. Overall it's a charming apartment with some standard quirks (like sometimes the toilet handle needs a wiggle). There are plants in the apartment that will appreciate some watering, so ideally the subletters enjoy plants!

The apartment is located in the neighborhood of Crown Heights. We are jump away from subway lines 2, 3, 4 and 5 at Franklin Avenue stop, as well a 10 minute walk to the A/C train at Franklin Avenue. In addition to being above a cooking herbs store, we are also surrounded by all the essentials – burger joints, pizzerias, burrito places, wine shops, bodegas, markets, dry cleaning, bars, sushi places. Literally within only steps. We are also a short walk to the Brooklyn Museum, Library, Botanical Gardens, and Prospect Park.

The current tenants are looking for a positive subletter/s while they both have work outside of NYC. Pet-friendly (just a pet-cleaning fee on a case-by-case basis).

Photos are up-to-date but a video of the space will be shared to those who reach out.

About the tenants:

Bonnie (left bedroom) has lived in the apartment for 15 years. So it has her personality throughout. She is an Alabama-native, so she tends to be hospitable. The apartment is her oasis so a respectful and tidy subletter, who is a non-smoking inside (don't care what you do outside of the apartment!). Her doggy is Hope is a medium-sized pointer-mix who loves humans but needs a moment to warm up to other doggos most of the time (but sometimes is an instant bud).

Anne (right bedroom) is a filmmaker who recently moved back to Brooklyn after 8 years in LA. She loves her snuggly room in the vibrant Crown Heights neighborhood! She is an extremely communicative, clean, and respectful roommate; down to share a glass of wine or have a solo night depending on the vibes. Anne has a little chihuahua named Piglet who can be a bit growly and protective at first, but will end up snuggling in your lap after a few weeks! If you’re staying in her room, she always wants to ensure you feel at home and also feel free to reach out, should you need anything.
