About this Lister

Patricia Rivera, Benjamín Figueroa, Javier Morales and Miriam Juárez are located in Mexico City and the state of Oaxaca, bringing you authentic cultural and linguistic knowledge straight from the heart of Mexico.

We’re academics, anthropologists, filmmakers and writers with an extensive background who joined to create Spanish for Humans: A learning environment in which students, based on their specific needs, set the teaching guidelines that their teachers will follow to help them speak Spanish.

The teachers have infused their classes with traditions and culture from different latitudes, where you can learn at your own pace, with your own needs and within your own types of learning as a form of self-care.

Background and Expertise

Patricia Rivera has a graduate degree in literature, is an award-winning screenwriter and has a postgraduate degree in teaching Spanish at Mexico's top language school CEPE - UNAM. With eleven years of experience in language teaching, she has created her own teaching technique. Her students have used to their Spanish skills to get jobs in the translation, journalism, creative writing fields, as well as to obtain Mexican and Spanish nationalities.

Benjamín Figueroa has a bachelor’s degree in literature and a postgraduate degree in filmmaking. A professional with international work, he has eight years of experience as a college professor in literature and screenwriting. With a bilingual upbringing, he also works as a professional translator. With thirteen years of teaching experience, he specializes in effective learning.

Javier Morales is a social anthropologist specializing in North American Native communities. With a PhD in social studies, he works in social profiles and the similarities within the Latin American use of Spanish. He also has seventeen years of experience teaching at UNAM, His teaching technique in conversational Spanish positions him as one of the best speaking teachers.

Miriam Juárez has a postgraduate degree in language teaching from the best school in Mexico for language teaching CEPE - UNAM. They speak four languages and is certified in the creation of board games and didactic activities in the field of teaching. With nine years of experience, they developed classes that go beyond the norm of conventional classrooms.
