The goals of the Store Manager are to improve sales performance and profitability of the store through their leadership and by executing an exceptional customer experience that embodies and reflects the Sterling Place mission. In addition, they are expected to establish and maintain core protocols and systems to increase business efficiency. This position is very hands-on, and any applicant must demonstrate their leadership, design sensibility, and retail qualifications within their cover letter and resume.

Consistent with the above core responsibilities, the general day-to-day responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Ø Engaging with customers and delivering superior customer service, including providing assistance with gift selections/recommendations, and educating customers on the various furniture lines offered.

Ø Curating and maintaining an inviting store experience.

Ø Processing in-store, phone and online sales.

Ø Assist principles with buying.

Ø Merchandising and monitoring the store floor, and creating enticing store window displays.

Ø Managing inventory and sales systems. Generating purchase orders, receiving merchandise, and communicating with vendors about merchandise, issues, and invoicing. Should be able to lift and move various types of merchandise, including furniture, while receiving and merchandising the store.

Ø Managing online sales channels and social media.

Ø Initiating changes to keep the store competitive and innovative.

Ø Updating the principles on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent operational information.

Any qualified candidate will be a hands-on, self-starter with exceptional customer service, communication and leadership skills, and be highly organized with great attention to detail. They must have a proven track record with 2+ years of retail management, merchandising, design or related experience for this position. Computer literacy, multitasking and exceptional written and oral communication skills are required. Any interested candidate must be available to work on weekends and Q4 holiday periods.
