I absolutely cherish this large 1 bedroom on the third floor of an elegant prewar elevator building with 24-hour doorman. The space is massive, beautiful, and gets tons of natural light throughout the day. Laundry room with washers/dryers on the ground floor of the building. Pets are not allowed in the building. Rent + $1250 security deposit due upon signing. I can be a bit flexible with dates.
I live alone but the space generously hosts a couple. The bedroom is large: queen-size bed, half-wall closet, as well as a vanity and an antique dresser for additional storage. There's also a large closet in the entry foyer. The bathroom has marble tiled floors and a soaking tub. The apartment has two air conditioners—one in the bedroom and one in the living room.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, stainless steel appliances, and is stocked with coffee, tea, spices, and lots of cooking equipment. In the adjacent dining area, the burl dining table was handmade for me by local architects, who also made the onyx desk in the office area. I found the leather and chrome dining chairs, vintage c. 1970, in Italy, the rugs and pottery are antiques from Georgia, and I designed and built the wooden bookcase myself. There's also a delightful fire escape just off the dining room, where I like to have breakfast or drinks when it’s nice out. Located in a newly renovated prewar building with elevator and doorman.
The large workspace includes a printer, which you’re welcome to use. Artworks on the walls are by friends or related to various exhibitions I've organized at MoMA, the Venice Biennale, and elsewhere. The living room overlooks a quiet, leafy street of historic brownstones.
Surrounded by great restaurants and bars, one of NYC’s best bakeries, and 24-hour groceries a block away. Located walking distance to Fort Green Park, Ft. Greene farmers market, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Literally voted the hottest neighborhood in America in 2025.
