Bright, Spacious Summer Sublet in Ditmas Park/Kensington – AC, Books, Plants & Great Vibes
I’m subletting my beautiful room in Ditmas Park/Kensington while I’m away for dance residencies this summer. The room is large, bright, and fully furnished—with two windows, AC, plants, and a great book collection. It’s a peaceful, clean space with white walls and lots of natural light—perfect for working, resting, meditating or creating.
You'll be sharing the apartment with my amazing roommate, a fellow artist who is kind, respectful, and very easy to live with. The apartment has:
A full kitchen
Two bathrooms
In-unit washer & dryer
A small shared garden on the bottom floor
Located on the third floor (no elevator)
We’re both foodies and keep the space clean and organized. No parties, but an occasional dinner with friends is welcome.
The location is super convenient—right off the Ditmas Ave stop on the F train. Prospect Park is a 20-minute walk away, and it’s about a 30-minute bike ride to Coney Island. The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and full of great local stores and restaurants.
Looking for a responsible, considerate subletter to enjoy the space. Let me know if this sounds like a good fit!
Hi! I’m Miguel — a queer interdisciplinary artist originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I work as a director, choreographer, and performer across opera, dance, and art installation.
My work often weaves together Latin American and Caribbean stories with movement and community-centered performance.
While I’m away this summer on dance residencies, I’m looking for a kind, responsible person to sublet my peaceful Brooklyn room. I hope you’ll feel inspired and at home here.
You’ll be sharing the apartment with Xinan Ran—an incredible visual artist and designer originally from Inner Mongolia, China. Her work spans installation, environmental design, and community-based practices, and has been called “Highbrow and Brilliant” by New York Magazine. She is cool.
Together, we form Xenoduo, a creative partnership we started in 2017. Our collaborative work explores diasporic imagination, cross-cultural homemaking, and post-nationalist futures—often through sculpture, performance, and public art. We’re both deeply rooted in our communities and committed to creating a peaceful, respectful home.
Dates: July 12 – August 31
Rent: $2,300 total or $350/week
Security Deposit: $200 (fully refundable)
I’m ideally looking for someone for the full sublet period but open to weekly stays if needed.
I'm happy to do a quick FaceTime to show you the room! If you'd like to see the space in person, I’ll just need to coordinate with my roommate.
