We’ve recently completed a full renovation of our extra-wide brownstone in central Brooklyn, and are looking for respectful, responsible short-term guests to enjoy it while we are away August 9–23.

Spend slow mornings reading in the hammock, afternoons exploring Brooklyn’s parks and bakeries, and long summer dinners outside under the trees. It’s a home designed for comfort, cooking, conversation, and easy summer living.

Fair warning: you may not want to leave the house.

🌳 The Parlor Level and Garden 🌳

The parlor floor features a sun-filled open living and dining space with soaring 12-foot ceilings, original marble fireplaces, and generous proportions typical of Brooklyn’s most beautiful brownstones.

Relax on the extra-deep sectional while watching a movie on the 68” HD television, spin vinyl on the turntable, or play Xbox.

Through classic pocket doors, you’ll enter a chef’s kitchen designed for cooking and entertaining, outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances including Sub-Zero refrigerator, Viking six-burner gas range, Bosch dishwasher.

Custom cabinetry houses every tool a home cook could want—from a pasta maker and air fryer to a rice cooker and ice-cream maker.

Step through the oversized arched double doors onto the new deck, where you’ll find a large dining table for eight and an extra large barbecue—perfect for summer dinners.

Down the stairs to the garden where you'll find flowers, plants, tiny trees, lounge chairs and a hammock, ideal for slow mornings with coffee and the Sunday New York Times.

Newly refinished wood floors run throughout the home, and high-end split A/C systems keep most rooms comfortably cool—even in August.

A mature tree shading the façade helps keep the house naturally cooler and calmer than the street outside, creating a peaceful retreat in the middle of the city.

The house sits on a quiet, tree-lined block on the border of Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill, one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant and walkable neighborhoods.

Within minutes you’ll find excellent bakeries, restaurants, cafés, and grocery stores, and the C train is just two blocks away, making Manhattan easily accessible.

🌳 A Welcoming Home 🌳

We love sharing our home and hope to find someone who will enjoy and care for it as if it were their own.

We rented it once before during the summer and had such a great experience that we ended up becoming friends with our guests.

Ideally we would find one subletter for the full two-week period (with slight flexibility of a day or so).

Respect for our wonderful neighbors is important. The garden apartment is occupied by a lovely couple who share the yard but not the deck, and our next-door neighbors have been part of the block community for decades.

It’s truly a special and very comfortable space, and we’re excited to find the right fit.

About This Lister

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We work in marketing and writing and play in music and art. We have a wonderful couple who lives in the downstairs apartment. The neighborhood is quiet and the home is a perfect oasis to return to after fun days out and about. We are so lucky and happy to be able to share what we have created.
