We're renting out our spacious (1500SqFt/140 SqM), fully furnished, stylishly decorated duplex while travelling. The apartment, with large windows on three sides, is on the upper two floors of a two-family 1890s townhouse, situated on a quiet, landmarked block in Stuyvesant Heights in historic Bedford Stuyvesant, and features some original detail. On the parlor floor where you enter, you'll find the living room, kitchen and dining room with an adjacent office space, with beautiful light streaming through, as well as a full shower/toilet. The upper floor features a huge bedroom with a king-size bed, a smaller bedroom with a queen-size bed, as well as a full bathroom with easy to operate washer/dryer. The couch in the living room converts into a full sofabed. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including an induction stove, a dishwasher, and a microwave. All bedrooms and the living room have cable TV, and WiFi is strong throughout the house. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms, as well as the living and dining rooms. Utilities are included. Explore the area by bike, which you'll rent at the corner, play tennis at the court nearby, do yoga or take the kids to the park/ playground next door.
The building is conveniently located between 2 subway stops (A/C lines at Utica Avenue and C line at Kingston Throop), 5-7 minutes away. Lower Manhattan can be reached in 20 minutes on the A express train. Be at JFK or LaGuardia by taxi in 35 mins! The A train or B15 bus also gets you to JFK. There is a supermarket, a deli, and patisserie 2 minutes away and it is a short walk to a pharmacy. Cafés and restaurants (Peaches, Zaca, Trad Room, Saraghina) are also in close walking distance.
My husband is an artist and I'm a humanitarian worker and documentary filmmaker. We own the townhouse and the duplex is our home where we live. We're looking for responsible tenants who keep a clean house, and will make an effort to keep good neighborly relations i.e., no noise after 10pm, or parties with loud music. We consider dogs on a case-by-case basis, but one of us has a severe cat allergy, so unfortunately no felines allowed in any part of the house.
We are the owners
We require a government issued ID, a reference from a previous landlord, 1 month rent upfront, and a 1/2 month security deposit. A lease agreement will also be prepared for the duration.
We consider dogs on a case-by-case basis, but I have a severe cat allergy, so unfortunately no felines allowed in any part of the house. For dogs we ask for a pet deposit of $200.
