We’re looking for one community-minded person to join our Prospect Lefferts Garden home, affectionately known as the Pie Hole (if you are the Chosen One, please expect a Pie Hole initiation ceremony– we love to bake!).

We’re located in a fairly new elevator building about 7 minutes from the Sterling 2/ 5. The apartment is spacious and sunny with modern amenities. We have central AC and heating and an in-unit washer and dryer. The kitchen is large, with two sinks, two refrigerators, and a dishwasher. It’s well-stocked with appliances and gadgets. All utilities are included!

Your room can be unfurnished or modestly furnished. It’s north facing with a big window and a built-in closet. You would have primary use of the half-bath and would share the full bath with Stevie and Oliver.

Our Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood is in the Little Caribbean neighborhood. We’re on a fairly quiet tree-lined residential street a block away from Nostrand Ave, which has cafes, bodegas, and notably, Allen’s currant rolls. The neighborhood has lots of cultural events & music throughout the year. We’re about a 20 minute walk or 10 minute bike ride from Prospect Park and a 10 minute walk from the 2,3,4,5 on Sterling St.

House culture:

We strive to foster a queer-friendly, feminist, anti-racist, 420 friendly, and sex-positive space. We support each other in our identities, backgrounds, and growth.
Work and personal schedules keep us busy, but we enjoy occasional group dinners, having a laugh together, or having a movie night (lately we’re hooked on Yellowjackets). We enjoy a drink or a smoke but aren’t hard partiers and generally keep a relaxed home environment.

We're looking for a roommate in their 30s who has experience living with others and values both shared living and personal balance. Ideally, you’re someone who enjoys being an active participant in the household—not just sharing chores, but contributing to a sense of community.

We keep things pretty tidy around here (more so than many co-op-style homes), and we’ve developed some solid systems to help the house run smoothly. We’d love for you to plug into those systems and help maintain the flow.

About This Lister

Oliver–34 (he/they/) Creative small business owner and chef with a pretty active roster of extracurriculars. I’m into cooking, tarot, and movement. I bartend late on Saturdays and have a sporadic work schedule during the week, so my hours can be a little nontraditional. Down for heart to hearts, dad jokes, hosting together and getting out and going dancing.

Stevie– 29, she/they. Resident necromancer. I work 24hr shifts in deathcare, so I have no sleep routine and sleep when I can. Often during the day. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outside, going to shows, catching movies, making cookies, and reading. I am Merlin and Arthur management.

Katie– 32, she/they. Hag vibes. I enjoy crafting and tending to my plants, and I work a M-F 9-5 as a geographer. I’m disabled and AuDHD, so I value conscientiousness. I’m great for wandering conversations, bad jokes, and heart-to-heart communication. Always down to go see a show, try a new food spot, or learn a new skill.

Merlin (feline)- 10, he/they. A sweet angel baby! Very very affectionate. You may need to ask for space occasionally. Also very food motivated. He goes crazy for potato chips.

Arthur (feline)- 10, he/they. The spiritual equivalent of a Vietnam war veteran. Prefers his own space, and is lovable at a distance. May swipe at you if you get too close. He struggles with anxiety issues, and petting his tail is a big no no.

Rental requirements

We’re looking for someone to commit to a minimum of three months, ideally from July 2025 through February 2026, with the option to renew if it’s a good fit.

Move-in costs include first month’s rent + one month’s security deposit, both due at signing.

All Utilities included! (Wifi, water, heat, electricity)

Pets Policy

We have 2 cats named Merlin and Arthur and are not looking to add more mammals to the mix. Fish and reptiles could be fine.
