Spacious, well-lit bedroom in large apartment complex, with high ceilings, gorgeous light, and beautiful windows overlooking scenes of the neighborhood. Folding queen-size bed frame available if needed.

This room comes with its own bathroom (full bath).

The apartment has high ceilings, great light, and beautiful hardwood floors. The spacious kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, with all appliances at your disposal.

The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms adjoin a centrally located living/dining room areas, which I've furnished with plushy couches and a sizable wooden dining room table.

A third bedroom is presently being used for storage but which also has a nice chair and an exercise bike the I don't mind sharing.

I have lived in this neighborhood since 2008 and love the area so much I can hardly imagine leaving. The Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Central Library, and Prospect Park are all within a short nearby stretch of Eastern Parkway. I can walk to five or six different grocery stores easily, some open late, as well as more coffee shops, restaurants, and bars than I can count. I can also walk to at least three independent bookstores. Many performing arts venues--not least of all BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music--are also within walking distance.

Train access to the rest of the city is unmatched; only Fulton Street in downtown Manhattan is served by as many trains as this part of Brooklyn, and getting between boroughs (especially Manhattan) is about as easy it gets with the MTA.

Utilities included with rent.

Please note: I live with a friendly cat who doesn't always get along with other cats, so I unfortunately can't take on others. He is kept out of the room being rented and can be kept that way.

About This Lister

I am a literature professor in my early 40s seeking a roommate who is calm, kind, responsible, and good with cats. A plus if you like plants, books, the arts and humanities, cooking, and the occasional low-key social gathering. A double-extra-plus if you don't hate classical music, literary theory, or leftist politics, though general open-mindedness and care matter most by far.

This is a queer-friendly and anti-racist home.
