Entire furnished Clinton Hill duplex loft apartment with flexible downstairs live/work space in an old factory turned apartment building available to sublet from mid-January to the end of July. Open to one person, a couple, or roommates. Pet friendly.
** Happy to do a lease takeover too. Please let us know in your inquiry if that interests you. **
THE APARTMENT: The main floor is on the first floor of the building at the end of the hallway. It is a one bedroom layout with hardwood floors, high ceilings and incredible sunlight from massive windows that look out on the building's (quiet) courtyard. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the kitchen has a dishwasher.
Go down the spiral staircase into the basement and you'll find a unique space with a tile floor that is open to possibilities. Right now it has an office/lounge room, a small living room, and a bedroom with an extra room/nook. This floor is flexible. We used it as two bedrooms with a small living room, office/music practice space, and storage. The tenants before us used it as a recording studio. There is limited-to -no sunlight in the basement depending on which room you're in which is great for someone who wants to have complete control over light. Furniture can be moved to your liking if you want more room for an art studio or music studio/practice space, or would prefer a bigger second bedroom etc.
It's a wonderful building with an active community and lots of long term tenants, many of whom are artists with basement studios. There is a shared laundry room in the basement of the building complex and a super on site in case of anything urgent.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: It's located in a lovely walkable neighborhood, a four minute walk from the Classon G and just blocks away from the Pratt Institute. It's a 15 minute walk from both Fort Greene Park and Von King Park, and a 15 minute cab right to SoHo and Williamsburg or 30 minute bus/subway ride. There's tons of bars, restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance. There are three grocery stores in walking distance. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Wegman's are all easily accessible by public transportation. There's two art supply stores as well just blocks away.
My partner and I are both journalists who lived in the apartment with our teenage kids and dog for five years. We moved out of state for work a few months ago. It's a great apartment and we loved living there.
