Sunny 12’x8’ room with a 3’x10’ balcony and closet available August 1st for a year-long lease. The room is in a 4-bedroom duplex in Crown Heights with a dishwasher and washer/dryer in unit and central AC/heat. The apartment is on the 4th floor of a small walk up building; there is unfortunately no elevator. The building also includes a shared courtyard space with furniture and bike racks as well as roof access.

The room is courtyard-facing and is very quiet, with northern exposure so it has excellent afternoon light. There is also a fair amount of shared storage space under the stairs in the apartment. We live on the 4th floor and have friendly neighbors in the building.

Room: About 12x8 feet, unfurnished except for a fold-out desk. There is a large closet outside the room. Rent for the room is $1,223 plus utilities around $95/month (internet and electricity).

Unfortunately, no couples and our apartment is not large enough to accommodate another pet: there is already a medium-size dog in the apartment.

About This Lister

You would be living with a librarian/archivist (Em, non-binary, 36), a future librarian (Maia, female, 31) and an artist & educator (Gabrielle, non-binary, 35) as well as a medium-large very friendly dog, Zola. As you might expect from a librarian and librarian-to-be, we are a pretty quiet household, but we enjoy socializing with each other. The apartment is vaxxed and non-smoking. LGBTQ+ friendly is non-negotiable. We are looking for a clean, communicative flatmate who will contribute to a rotating apartment cleaning schedule.
