I'm looking for a short term studiomate, to share my beloved gem of a studio on the border on Prospect and Crown Heights, with potential to continue subletting in January. The space is approximately 350 sq ft, 11.5 ft ceilings, has two windows, and is completely private, with soundproofing. The studio is located in a building with a handful of friendly and serious painters/sculptors/photographers. There are two main working walls in the studio (see photos), we would each have one. The studio is located on the second floor, up one flight of stairs (no freight elevator) and includes a shared kitchenette with microwave and toaster oven, WC, slopsink, and oil-based materials safe disposal bin, as well as onsite trash and recycling. The studio itself has an easel for use (if you want it) and I can clear some minimal storage space if you wish to use it.

Ideal for someone who is conscientious about shared/sublet space, clean, and does not work with airbrush, aerosol materials, or sanding. I am an oil painter and use odorless mineral spirits so you're welcome to do the same. Perfect for someone new to New York, in between studio spaces, looking to do a short term residency, or make/document larger work. I'm usually in the studio from mid-afternoon-evening, so if you're a morning person (the studio gets lovely light in the morning -not that I ever see it), you would reliably have the studio to yourself then.

A bit about me, I'm (F, late 30's) a mostly full time painter who also teaches. I'll be in Europe for an exhibitions the first week of October so you'd have the place to yourself then to settle in. I've had all kinds of studios in the past, shared, semi-private etc. so am happy to listen to music and chat while we're both there working or maintain a cordial quiet headphones work vibe when we overlap.
