This is a cozy 700 sq ft studio-cottage on a quiet road, next to woods and trails. The space has an open layout with a full kitchen, full bathroom, and a small closet. The kitchen has a gas stove, full-sized fridge, and an assortment of pots, pans, cutlery and dishes—though no microwave or dishwasher.
The living area is up a flight of interior stairs and three exterior stone steps. Inside, you’ll find high ceilings with exposed wood beams, hardwood floors, several potted plants, and lots of natural light.
There’s also a stone porch with rocking chairs—a great spot in the warmer months. Inside furniture includes a dining table, a comfy 72” blue couch, a small bookshelf, a desk and chair, and a queen bed with a foam mattress in good shape. (The dressers in the photos aren’t included.) Tenants should bring their own dresser, bedding, towels, and anything else not listed.
What’s included: Heat, hot water, electricity, and internet.
The first floor is a basement with a separate entrance, which serves as a part-time studio and storage for the property owner who lives next door.
Laundry: A coin laundromat is available in town.
Best suited for a single person with a green thumb looking for a peaceful place to call home. We’d prefer no pets because of the furniture and wood floors, but we’re open to discussing it. Not open to businesses.
Just a 5-minute drive to Rosendale, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and an indie movie theater. It’s also a 15-minute drive to Kingston and New Paltz. Rosendale has Adirondack Trailways bus service to and from NYC, but a car is pretty essential.
Outdoor access: Great hiking trails nearby, plus a rail-trail path that connects Rosendale to New Paltz, Kingston, and beyond (all the way to Poughkeepsie and Montreal!). Yard access, yes!
Length of rental is listed until May. There’s some possibility for extension on that, but at this time, not a long-term rental possibility. We are also open to a Feb 15th start.
Please reach out if the price is out of your budget.
We’re the homeowners who live and work from home in the house next door (about 50 feet away). We’re looking for a considerate, tidy, and friendly renter who enjoys a quiet, nature-friendly setting.
We take an active interest in the house and do regular maintenance on heat pump, plumbing etc. We have great relationships with our neighbors on either side and some previous tenants have enjoyed getting to know them as well.
2 References, $800 deposit, and documentation of income will be required.
We are available to show the place on Thursdays-Sundays generally. Weekends are ideal.
When you email, please let us know a bit about yourself and why a short-term rental might work for you.
