We live in Sunset Park and are looking for a third roommate to sublet the open room in our 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment December 1, 2025. The building is located on 8th Avenue, near the DNR subway lines, and has seven stories and an elevator. The monthly cost is $933 for rent, plus shared utilities (roughly $40-60 per month).

The apartment is fully furnished (except for the open room), and appliance-wise has a gas range, a microwave, and a full-sized oven. The bedroom for rent is partially furnished with a full size bed frame and mattress. The apartment has no closets, but there is room for external clothing racks for hanging clothing in every room. This bedroom shares a bathroom with one other roommate (the second bathroom is in one of the bedrooms). The living room has a TV and pullout couch, and we have a trusty washer/dryer in unit! The bedroom does not come with an air conditioner, but has a sleeve in the wall where one can be installed. We also have a roomy balcony with chairs and a small table for enjoying time outside, the sunset views are particularly nice.

About This Lister

Our names are Onyinyechi (O, she/they), and Joy (they/them), we went to college together and graduated in '22. Joy has been living in the apartment since 2022, and grew up in Brooklyn. Onyinyechi moved in during the fall of '24, and grew up in New Jersey. Onyinyechi works a remote corporate job, and Joy is a studio assistant. We are both a mix of extroversion with a strong appreciation for alone/quiet time as well. We have friends over to visit a few times a week typically (Joy has a partner that sleeps over 1-2 times per week), and enjoy hanging out in the common spaces together periodically. We value clear, direct communication, and are interested in sharing written agreements, developing a chore system, and having regular check ins to make sure we can all feel comfortable and happy in our shared home.
