My cherished home of 20 years is a favorite for visiting conductors and artists from all over the world. Lovely and very sunny, with hardwood floors throughout it feels like you’re in a country home in the middle of the city. There are two bedrooms, a large eat on kitchen and one bath. There is a fireplace in the living room, high ceilings, a Knabe upright piano ( kept in tune) two guitars and an antique troubadour harp. Comfortable furniture an antique silk rug tons of detail and sunlight.

Kitchen: my oversized farmhouse kitchen is a functional and inviting space. While it retains its original pre war vintage character and cabinetry, there is a French door fridge and convection gas oven, a Nespresso machine, a French press, and only non toxic cookware. It is fully stocked. The kitchen is the heart of my home. Not only is it central to the layout, it comfortably accommodates a large farm table—for integrated meal prep and comfortably seats six. There’s also a smart TV and Sirius xm radio for those who enjoy a little entertainment while cooking. As a preserved landmark, there is no dishwasher/laundry, but the city’s best 'Wash & Fold' services are right outside.

The sunny generous primary bedroom is right off the kitchen and faces east with wide open views including the beautiful spire of the Museum of Natural History. On New Years and July 4th you can watch the Central Park fireworks from the comfort of your bed or walk over to the park have a picnic and listen to the New York Philharmonic. There is a queen sized four poster bed, non toxic mattress and sheets and there is a good sized closet and dressers dedicated solely for guests. The second bedroom was my daughters nursery and was the original maid’s room with a sweet little nook and it’s own medicine cabinet. There can be an empty closet if needed.

The Climb: We are a 4th-floor walk-up but the wide, shallow steps make for an easy climb that is rewarded with eastern views and tranquility.

* 2 Blocks West: Riverside Park and the Hudson River bike path—ride alongside the river all the way down to the High Line or Battery Park City. Or rent a kayak!

* The Neighborhood: it is a fifteen minute walk or two stop subway ride to Lincoln Center where you'll find the Met Opera House and the NYC Philharmonic.
As for food and shopping we are just upstairs from some of the best cafes shopping and grocery stores the city has to offer. Daily Provisions, Salt & Straw, and Levain Bakery are on the block and legendary Zabar’s is three blocks away. Fairways, Trader Joe's and Citarellas are just blocks away. Then there's always the famous Amsterdam Ave. Bar Crawl.

* Transit: A 5-minute walk to 5 major subway lines (1, 2, 3, B, C) and the M79 crosstown bus takes you through Central park leaving you close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim and 5th avenue.
