NOTE: Discount offered to renters renting the entire season - 11/1 through June 30.
The Hearts of Pine cabin is hand-built from local timber. Just a few of the cabin’s features are a 10 ft Cypress dining or work table, the heart shaped pond just steps from the porch, and the huge L-shaped downstairs loft style living space with cathedral ceiling and central wood stove. Large Primary BR with private upper porch overlooking the 4 acre property bordered by a stream, 2 smaller bedrooms . 1 and 1/2 baths and fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher. Upstairs den has additional sleeping nook with convertible futon. TV with Netflix account and upper loft space that can function an office/work space. Super fast internet. Gas for cooking, hot water, and back-up furnace but the wood stove keeps the cabin very warm even on the coldest nights.
The cabin is 12 minutes from Stamford, NY, where there are groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, library, gym, convenience store open til midnight, farm store, car mechanics, etc. Oneonta and Cobleskill are 45 and 25 minutes away and have colleges, big box stores, movies, hospitals, etc.
My cat, BC lives outside only, with access to her heated water bowl and heated shelter. She was a barn cat and a great hunter. Please give her a little food daily, and check her water bowl, thank you.
The cabin was not built as a rental property. We built it as our family home and it still my home when I am in the Northeast. I am a musician and I often travel for work. Several family members live in Stamford and are available to help you get settled in the area.
We bought the land, built the cabin, and moved here from Brooklyn to raise a family in 2006. We kept a small place in Brooklyn and continued our careers as a musician and fabric designer until the pandemic hit. My ex-wife lives in 12 minutes away in Stamford and is a great resource on the area. I am currently renovating a house in New Orleans and this is the reason for offering the rental. I prefer to have someone in the cabin most (or all) of the time rather than short rentals even if they pay more. I am very knowledgeable about the area and because I built it, I know every inch of the cabin and property. I have a 5-star rating as a rental host. I look forward to talking and getting to know each tenant. I am friendly, personable, and can answer any questions you may have.
Rental Requirements:
I have rented the cabin as a vacation rental for over 10 years and have a five star rating and stellar reviews. Please provide character and rental references. One month deposit, one month rent to move in with a simple one page rental agreement
Please keep the cabin clean, respect the furniture/appliances and report any damage ASAP. Please also see pet policy.
Rent includes electric, land line (free US calls) and high speed, internet, water, snow removal. I provide all firewood. Please contribute for gas if you use the furnace a lot instead of the wood stove. Contribution rate negotiable and not necessary if you keep a fire burning when you are home. I keep the thermostat at 50 degrees when I am out so it is easy to warm up.
An all wheel drive car is not necessary in our area, but it is helpful.
Negotiable, let’s talk. We prefer to have dogs sleep in their own beds in case future renters might have pet allergies. No cats, please.
