We’re renting the second floor of our two-family townhouse in Bushwick, available around August 1 (with some flexibility on timing). The apartment is a spacious, sunny 1.5 bedroom with high, original pressed-tin ceilings. Great for plants. At approximately 800 square feet, it includes a large living/dining room, a big bedroom, two smaller rooms (walk-in closet and home office), and a newly renovated kitchen with updated cabinetry, counters, and stove.
Note: some of the work we're doing on the apartment is in progress this week (of 14-July) - kitchen photo has some pending work, windows are being replaced, and ceiling fan installed in main bedroom.
The location is excellent: one block from the DeKalb L stop and Maria Hernandez Park, with convenient access to Citibike, bus service, and grocery stores. The neighborhood offers a great mix of restaurants, cafes, and nightlife (Ops, Klom Klorm, KCBC, and more).
Rent is $3,200/month for a one-year lease, with heat and water included; tenants pay electric, gas, and internet. We’ll run a credit check and require combined gross income of at least 40x the monthly rent. No pets, and there is no washer/dryer in the unit, but laundromats close by.
We own and live in the lower unit — we’re Dan and Anna, a couple in our late 30s (working in tech and global health), along with our toddler. We value having responsible, communicative tenants and are attentive owners who take good care of the building.
No smoking, no pets, no subletting. We’ll run a credit check, and require combined gross income of at least 40x the monthly rent ($128,000). There's a basic application that will ask for references, and you'll need to pay $20 towards credit check - there are no other fees.
