Hi! I'm looking for a considerate someone to sublet my beautiful, southwest-facing bedroom for two weeks while I'm out of town. There's a full-size bed and a large desk and I'd be happy to clear some storage space. I have a new (quiet!) AC unit in my room that I'm happy to install before you show up if you like.
The apartment has been renovated in the last few years, complete with new appliances including a gas burner stove, and the hardwood floors still shine. The kitchen and living room get plenty of natural light from the skylight and large windows. Our living room is increasingly becoming a small jungle thanks to all the house plants (but don't worry, you wouldn't have to look after them).
We're lucky enough to have a fire escape overlooking our landlord's enormous, well-tended garden. Our apartment is one of three in the building and the only one on the top floor, so we have quite a bit of privacy. Our landlord is chill, friendly, very respectful of our space, but very accessible in case anything needs fixing (it rarely does).
The neighborhood couldn't be better. We’re a five-minute walk from McCarren Park and the G train. The apartment is located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street, but it's an easy walking distance to Five Leaves, Bernie’s, Eavesdrop, Ponyboy, Edy’s Grocer, and a ton of great bars and restaurants. It’s also a 15-minute walk to the Bedford Ave. L stop and there’s a Citibike dock a block away.
I have two wonderful roommates, both 26F. Everyone's out and about a fair amount, and we all really value a clean, harmonious living situation. Guests are welcome, of course, but we generally prefer not to bring the party home. This is an LGBTQ+-friendly household.
I'm a food journalist in my thirties. One of my roommates is a yoga/pilates instructor and the other works in restaurants. We have a very relaxed, friendly home environment, but we do value cleanliness in the common spaces (i.e. do your dishes please).
This has been my home for the last three-plus years.
I'd like to take a $500 deposit just to be safe, which will be returned to you as soon as I'm back.
