The furnished apartment is located on the second floor, with three West facing small balconies that provide gorgeous light at all times of day. There is a built in breakfast nook in the kitchen, which is well stocked with cooking tools, a toaster oven, microwave, mini Cuisinart and standard sized gas stove and refrigerator. Hardwood floors, washer/dryer in the apartment. Fast Wifi.
It is my home and has been for 10 years. The building is old (1920s) so there are some quirks - very tiny bathroom and the weirdest closet you've ever seen. (But I will of course make room for your stuff.)
The neighborhood is amazingly walkable for Los Angeles - just around the corner is a coffee shop and several restaurants and an amazing breakfast food truck that comes daily, and Whole Foods is walking distance. (Well, depending on what that means to you. It's about a 10 minute walk.) I live across from two schools, so during the day there is a background noise of kids playing. I work from home and it doesn't bother me a bit. People are walking their dogs all day and eve - so if you are a dog lover-- there are always some to gaze at out the window.
I built a daybed on one of the balconies which is a lovely place to be outside but not. The bed in the bedroom is only a full size mattress, alas. That's all that will fit in the room. But it's super comfortable! There are some rumpled blankets and cluttered spots in these photos - they will all be made orderly and pristine by the time you are here. I am just in a hurry to get this listing up!
Parking is street parking only, but it's always easy to find a spot. (In my 10 years here I've never looked for a spot for more than 5 minutes).
The apartment has its own entrance and address. When you open the front door with a key, you are in my place. The staircase is old, and steep (20 steps), so this is not a great place for people with mobility concerns or small children. Maximum two people, and sorry, no pets.
A screenwriter and screenwriting professor relocating to New York for a few months. As a writer, it's important that my space be the kind of place you want to be in all day and night, and that's why I've been here for 10 years. I've lived in Los Angeles for 20 years and spend my time between here and New York.
Rent is $2500 and with a $2500 dollar deposit. Happy to give virtual tour of the place, talk over Zoom, etc., but no in person visits, please. Move out date is slightly flexible.
