Our townhouse sits on a quiet stretch of Bergen Street in the Crown Heights historic district, a residential part of Brooklyn known for its tree-lined blocks and leisurely neighborhood tempo. The house was built around the turn of the century and still carries much of its original character: woodwork, shutters, tall doors, layered rooms, with a modernized kitchen and updated bathrooms that keep things simple and comfortable.
Rate for the sublet looks something like this.

The home is sun-filled during the day and calm in the evenings. It's a space that's lived in and cared for: bookshelves on every floor, plants that are friends, warm lighting, dark shades that make the bedrooms restful at night, and a layout that suits close friends and families. We think of it as a quiet place to land after being out in the city, and past guests have felt the same.
There are four bedrooms arranged as two-bedroom suites on separate floors, each suite with its own bathroom close by. The beds are comfortable, something we prioritize, and the floors are set up so that people can sleep at different hours without disturbing one another. Two full bathrooms (each with a shower) and an additional half bath near the kitchen serve the home.
The living spaces are easy to settle into: a living room with morning sunlight, a dining room that comfortably fits 6 for meals, and various places to work from home (+ reliable internet). The kitchen is straightforward and very functional, with full-size appliances, an induction cooktop, and the bells and whistles for cooking. It looks out toward the backyard.
On the practical side, there's a washer/dryer, reliable internet, dishwasher, and very cozy steam heating throughout. Linens and towels are stocked. Utilities, garbage service, and pest control are included. We ask guests to take off their shoes in the hallway and we do the same. Our neighbors are our friends, so keeping noise to normal household levels is essential. Sometimes you can hear neighbors playing piano, and the post being delivered, it's a residential block in every sense.
The house comfortably accommodates 4 to 6 guests.
With two bedroom suites on separate floors, the layout works especially well for family groups or mixed-age guests who want enough room to spread out and sleep on different schedules. The home is not set up for parties or large adult-only groups; it suits guests looking for a mellow, well-kept place to stay.
We are a German / American household working in the land of architecture and design looking to share our place during the winter holiday. We would love to connect and provide more details about who we are.
