huge room available for a 2 month jan 1-march 1, 2026 sublet, but open to shorter term. starting a few days earlier or leaving a couple days later may also be possible!

about the room!

- $1200/mo. roughly 12’ x 14’ with 2 northwest facing windows and 2 closets (gets gorgeous light in the late afternoon/evening!)
- carpeted, lightly furnished with queen bed and dresser
- shared full bathroom and half bathroom with one person
- utilities (electric, wifi, water, gas) usually run around $100/pp/pm
- accessibility: one flight of stairs up to front entrance, one more flight of stairs to bedroom level

about the space!

- fourth oldest standing home in ridgewood!
- totally detached and set back from the road in a back lot; we share no walls with neighbors and have a private front (paved) yard currently set up with some seating/a firepit and small raised garden beds <33
- huuuge common spaces, fully furnished - living room with pottery wheel setup, dining room, kitchen with dishwasher
- laundry on site
- two total roommates: myself + dog on the top two floors and then one roommate in an in-law type apartment on the garden level. the roommate down there has a kitchenette so they will sometimes come upstairs to use our oven, but otherwise sticks to their part of the house as it has its own entrance, bathroom etc.
- pets: i have a large, older dog – she’s a total gentle giant, loves people, and sleeps most of the day...but she does shed, so not allergy friendly. unfortunately i’m Very allergic to cats and our landlord won’t allow any additional pets.

about the location!

- 0.3 miles to L train at Dekalb
- 0.6 miles to the M at Seneca
- one short to block B38 bus
- within 1-2 blocks of full-size grocery store, Sunset Community Garden, Grover Cleveland, Starr Playground, and plenty of bodegas, cafes, etc. within walking distance as well.
- easy on-street parking!
- beautiful, quiet, one-way block of period row homes!

please write with a little about yourself, ideal dates to stay, and any questions you might have!

About This Lister

about me as a roommate!

- i work full-time in higher ed and also am in in the thick of dissertation writing for my phd in irish history/media studies!
- i enjoy fiber arts, ceramics, cycling (and generally being outdoors), am a lapsed musician, etc… <3
- i work mostly remotely, so would prefer a roommate who works more in person – but absolutely not a dealbreaker!
- cleanliness: this is an old building and a single family home, which means we don’t have a super onsite and are responsible for our own trash disposal, leaves/snow removal, etc. as a household. we try to be super vigilant of pest/mold prevention etc. by way of keeping a clean kitchen and common areas (i.e. no food left out or dishes in sink overnight, sweeping daily) – but what do you in your room is your business! messy is fine, dirty is not!
- socially: would love to be friends but happy to each do our own thing too! i will occasionally have folks over for dinner or a lowkey night in, but generally prefer to keep the house as a calm home base, so no parties please :)
