My complex only allows roommates. Thus, I will be using one bedroom in my two-bedroom apartment and am renting out the rest of the space. Rent includes Electric/Heat/Hot Water. It is like a one-bedroom apartment. Lots of privacy and right across the bridge from Inwood. Currently the entire apartment is unfurnished (Images included to show scale and light). You can bring all your stuff and decorate as you want (no major alterations). Video walkthrough of apartment here: https://youtu.be/oqzubkxW3uI?feature=shared
It is a sunny apartment on the second floor of an elevator building. The highlight of this apartment is a massive 19-foot picture window that overlooks Devoe Park and several adult trees providing beautiful views of foliage from Spring-Fall, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets year-round and in the winter there are even glimpses of the GW Bridge. Plants and humans love the Southern exposures in every room.
The main living area is an open concept, living/dining/kitchen. The apartment has hardwood floors throughout complemented by 10-foot ceilings and overhead lights. Blackout shades in the bedroom. The front bedroom easily fits a queen bed and the back bedroom easily fits a king bed - you can pick either one. There is plenty of storage with two over-size storage closets, a pantry, a coat closet and closets in each bedroom. Verizon FiOS is available in the building at their rates for your internet connection.
Amenities include: onsite package room, onsite ATM, brand new children’s play area, two community rooms (for a fee), new laundry facilities, fitness room (for a fee), Wi-Fi in lobbies, intercom system with lobby video, outdoor seating areas and 24/7 security. Two elevators in the building. There are outdoor movies and festivals in summer, fall and winter, annual onsite document shredding and other community offerings. Optional utilities (A/C, basic cable, basic wifi) are about $100/month.
Transportation options are amazing! The closest being the BxM3 express bus to Manhattan right across the street and the 4, D, 1, A and both Hudson and Harlem MetroNorth all within 10-15 mins walk or bus ride via the Bx12. MetroNorth is a quick 30 mins to Grand Central from the University Heights Station. Street parking is what you would expect for NYC and there is a shuttle to a parking garage (with a monthly fee).
There’s a great park directly across the street with walking paths, benches, basketball courts and two playgrounds. Several grocery stores, pharmacies, a seasonal farmers market at Poe Park, restaurants, two libraries, a newly opened Target and many local businesses are all within walking distance along with the many other shops that line Fordham Road.
