High-rise apartments not your jam? We are looking for a new roommate to join our cozy home by September 1st. Ditmas Park has a neighborly, community vibe and we're looking for someone who values that. Must be a friendly, considerate person who respects others personal space and belongings, can communicate with maturity, knows how to clean up after themselves, and enjoys the occasional chat in the kitchen.

The Apartment:

-Large 3-bedroom apartment in a 2-unit house; the landlords live upstairs.
-Living room with lots of plants (bring yours!), dining room, foyer, two extra shared closets, full kitchen with gas range stove & oven, dish washer and your own pantry cabinet, with more to share.
-No AC in common areas of the house. You are welcome to bring a unit for your room.
-Spacious bathroom with a tub.
-Washer and dryer in basement, shared with landlords.
-Cute porch to sit and relax.

The Room:

-UNFURNISHED 9.5'x12' bedroom with a tall sunny window and hardwood floors. (Windows have been replaced & updated since photos were taken). Large double decker closet with a shelf. Fits a full or queen size bed, desk, dresser, and chair with room to spare.

The Neighborhood:

-Trees line the streets; gardens abound. It's insanely pretty here in spring.
-4 min walk to the Q, B lines and several buses, 15 min walk to the F line.
-Prospect Park is a 30 min walk away!
-Many restaurants and grocery stores within a 5 min walk. Nice year-round Sunday farmer's market a block away.
-For car owners: a gas station, tire shop, and car wash are down the street. Street parking is relatively easy.
-Our street is quiet as we are not near a major road. I love it here!

Notes:

We are looking for one roommate.
We prefer folks who want to stay long term (1yr+ ). This is a month-to-month rental, so term is flexible.
Sorry, no furry or feathered pets please.
Utilities run between $30-$60/month/person, gas and electric. Internet is included in rent.

About This Lister

The Roommates:

Roommate 1 (she/her): I'm in my mid 30s & work full time as a horticulture professional - big nature person! I'm an early bird (6am) with a Mon-Fri schedule. I'm often away on weekends and generally very busy. When I'm home I'm usually resting or diving into some creative pursuit. I'm a bit sensitive to noise.

Roommate 2 (he/him): mid 30s, recent Columbia grad who studied anthropology and film. You can usually find him reading, cooking, biking, attending protests, and exploring the city. His schedule varies, but also a morning person. Occasionally dog-sits a very chill pup at the house.

-We have been roommates here for over 5 years! So we are fairly settled in and have an excellent relationship with our landlords/neighbors that is important to maintain.
-We keep common spaces uncluttered and clean but we are not neat freaks. There are imperfections that come with a large old house like ours.
-We consider home a place for resting, studying, and recharging away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Occasional friends over are welcome, but if frequent guests, a lot of late-night activity, or a need for constant background noise is your style, this is not a good fit.
