APARTMENT
The apartment was completely renovated and outfitted with new appliances and floors before I moved in–it is well cared for and truly a gem in an historic, early 1900s building. The kitchen has a large stainless steel sink, 5-burner gas stove and oven, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. The bathroom, which is just off the kitchen, is palatial by New York standards with a full-sized tub. The primary bedroom is equally sizable and light-filled. It’s beautiful and adorable and has been my home for the past 4 years.
Because I am a baker and avid home cook, the kitchen is extremely well-stocked and great for cooking.
The entire apartment gets great light due to the building having no immediate neighbor on the south facing side. Additionally, this is the only unit on the top floor, so there are south, east, and west facing windows. My unit is one the top floor and I never hear the neighbors (though they are all friendly!).
NEIGHBORHOOD
Lower Bed Stuy, the best! There are so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and other small businesses within 5 minutes walk or less. Saraghina, a well known Italian restaurant, bar, and bakery is right across the street. On the other side of Halsey is Bar Lunatico, an amazing cocktail lounge hosting impeccable jazz and world music 7 days a week.
LOOKING FOR:
-Reliable, cleanly, and easygoing
-Treats the space with respect–I run a cottage food licensed cookie/jam business out of the kitchen–the large prep table along the wall of the living room houses all my baking supplies and ingredients–this is my business property and not for use. Any other items related to my business will be labeled and are not for use.
-No parties, No smoking on the premises, no pets
ABOUT ME:
I run a cottage food licensed bakery out of the kitchen, so there is a lot of cooking and baking equipment around! During your stay, I will be on my family’s farm in California canning next year’s stock of fruit butters, jams, and pickles. You are welcome to try whatever jams are in the fridge, and if you find frozen cookie dough in the freezer feel free to bake it off :)! I ask that all other items related to the bakery (along the south facing wall and including the large chest freezer) be left alone. Cleanliness and general respect for the space is a must.
