The apartment itself is fully furnished, and the room is furnished with a new queen size bed, and work desk and chair. Available room is spacious and very private, and can also fit (in addition to the bed and desk set-up) shelving, dresser, full-size mirror, and has a large closet, as well as two large windows to let in plenty of light. Bedroom has central AC and heating which can be controlled in the room. Apple TV and projector in common room. There are one and a half bathrooms in the apartment. The main bathroom is spacious, with a full bathtub.
Building is equipped with a courtyard (to which the apartment faces — very quiet!), gorgeous rooftop with views of the city skyline, gym, lounge, and study rooms. Secure building with virtual doorman and a secure package room with Amazon lockers. Additional storage in the building, bike storage, and parking available at an additional monthly fee. The building is a two-minute walk to the Dekalb L-train, and a five-minute walk to the Knickerbocker or Myrtle-Wyckoff M-trains, as well as many buses, providing a quick commute into the city. Situated in the heart of Bushwick, there are many close local spots for coffee (Variety is a favorite) and restaurants (Klom Klorm for Thai, Ops for pizza, and Taqueria Al Pastor are all in a block’s vicinity), as well as a short walk to Maria Hernández Park. Because our unit faces the backyard and common outdoor space, it is very quiet during the days and evenings — a tranquil haven for someone looking to study or work from home without interruptions.
I keep the apartment very clean (cleaning up every week), and generally get to bed on the early side as my job requires me to be up early, so I keep the apartment quiet (although I will put the radio on the jazz station or news from time-to-time). Also please note, there is no smoking in the unit (both inside or outside on the private deck).
Open to shorter stays, as well as a longer-term sublet of a full year. No pets, couples considered but not preferred.
