Looking for someone to sublet an open room from October 2025 (move in date flexible) - July 31, 2026. The apartment is located right off the 137th 1 train in Hamilton Heights/West Harlem on the 5th floor in an elevator building. The room is large (13x13 feet), has a big closet, and one window that gets great natural light. Current roommates are three women in our mid 20s-early 30s. Two of us are doctoral students and one of us is a software engineer. On weekdays, we typically work in-person, so we are not home often. We also have one very friendly cat. The apartment is fully furnished, but the room is unfurnished.

The neighborhood is very lively with many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. There are many students in the neighborhood--we are right by City College and Columbia University and a short distance to the Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard. We are right off the 1 train (137th street station) with easy access to midtown, Chelsea, and the West Village. We are also located a 15 minute walk to the A/B/C/D train (145th station). Riverbank State Park is a 5 minute walk away, which overlooks the Hudson River and has tennis/basketball courts, a track, a swimming pool, and access to the Hudson River Greenway. There are several grocery stores, convenience stores, and pharmacies nearby.

We also have one very friendly and affectionate cat named Juniper.

All three of us typically work in-person during the week, and we will spend time at home in the evenings/on weekends. We value having a comfortable space to come home to (i.e. we try to keep the space clean, respect each other's alone time/privacy, and help out with chores). We do have any hard and fast rules, but we try to be considerate of one another and the shared space.

We are happy to be friends with whoever moves in or just cohabitants. We would prefer a roommate who does not smoke.
