Hey there. I'm genuinely fatigued from scrolling all the usual sites after much effort trying to find the right 1-bedroom or large studio apartment. Can't say I've ever tried this approach, so it can't hurt. I'm Chris, a consumer tech journalist at Bloomberg and photographer who has lived around Brooklyn for a decade-plus. Recently had a short 6-month stint in Philly before heading back to NYC for a phenomenal job opportunity.
Looking *imminently* and open to living in most sections of Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens. Aiming to find a regular, tried and true one-year lease if the ideal spot comes along — but also not opposed to shorter-term sublets if it gets me to the colder months and (hopefully) an easier rental market.
Not picky about amenities. We'd all like a dishwasher and a decent amount of sunlight, you know?
Happy to provide references, credit report, proof of gainful employment/salary/etc, and the usual documentation.
I'm a 41-year-old journalist who has worked in media since 2011. I joined Bloomberg back in May after 13+ years at The Verge / Vox Media. Ambitious when it comes to my career. I also do a fair amount of photography, including concerts, food, and whatever else catches my eye.
Big music and movie collector. Fairly reserved. My partying days are long in the rear-view mirror. Above all else, the goal is to find a spot to treat with care and consideration and make into a relaxing, rejuvenating home. Lucky to have lots of family nearby NYC, but currently single and apartment hunting solo.
