Hi everyone!
I'm looking to rent the second room in a bright and beautiful 2bdr apartment in Bed-Stuy.
The room is semi-furnished with a Queen bedframe and mattress and closet, and can also fit a small desk. It receives lots of light throughout the day and has a big window facing the open backyard spaces between brownstones, with views of trees and birds.
Rent is $1475/month + bills (usually between $70-$90/month). The room is available for move-in from mid-January, with the latest move-in date being Feb 1. I'm ideally looking for someone who would like to rent for the whole year (lease up in Jan 2027), but open to shorter-term renters too.
The apartment is on a quiet and leafy block in Bed-Stuy/Stuyvesant Heights close to lots of cute restaurants, cafes and bars + range of grocery stores. We have quiet neighbors and laundry in basement. Photos here show recent furnishings, but I'm currently refurnishing the common spaces since my last roommate moved out. It's a 10-15min walk to the A/C (Kingston Throop/Utica), 15min walk to the M/J (Myrtle Av) and 20min walk to the G (Bedford-Nostrand).
I'm looking for someone who is ideally in their late 20s / early to mid-30s, cares about community, is queer-friendly, and who wants to co-create a home that is cosy, clean, calm and respectful of our neighbors in Bed-Stuy.
If this sounds like you, I'd love if you could email me and let me know a few sentences about yourself! I'll reply to organize a viewing and a tea to chat more.
I'm an early 30s POC lawyer and educator. In my spare time, I'm involved in community organizing and dancing. I work in person from Mon-Thurs and WFH on Fridays. I'm social and often out and about on weekends, but also value quiet time at home, especially on weeknights. I love to cook and sometimes have friends over, and would love to be able to share dinner, a drink or downtime with my roommate when we are both around and feel up to it.
First month's rent ($1475) + security deposit ($1475).
