Available August 1 | Short-term lease with option to extend
We’re renting out our large studio apartment (~600 sq ft) in East Flatbush starting August 1. It’s a quiet, light-filled space in a well-kept building — perfect if you're looking for a break from the noise but still want to be connected.
The apartment gets a ton of natural light through big windows that overlook a beautiful old cemetery. The space feels open and calm, with hardwood floors, a nice dressing area, and more closet space than you'd expect in a studio (2 large closets).
The kitchen, although small, is fully functional with enough counter space, and even a window. It’s easy to actually cook here and feels spacious.
Bathroom is nice, small (not tiny), with great light, a window , vanity, and some decent size storage. Shower has hot water and good pressure. Bathtub works great, we use it all the time.
The place has an open layout and feels very spacious. At the same time, you have a feeling of sections (bedroom, living room, kitchen, and even a dressing room) because of the L-shape layout.
It comes nearly furnished with a full bed frame and mattress, couch, small desk, chairs, tv stand, tv, night stand, and coffee table, as seen in pictures. The kitchen is stocked with basics for 1-2 people. No, it does not includes the drum kit or guitars (Lol).
Everything works. Everything looks great.
Other features:
Laundry in the building
CitiBike dock right on the corner
Supermarket around the block
10-minute walk to the 2/5 trains at Church Ave
Building is well-maintained and quiet
Did we mention tons of closet space?
Rent is $1,900/month. We’re starting with a short-term lease, but if it works out, there’s a good chance to extend. Okay if you are only looking short term only, but we looking to sublease for at least four (4) months this time around.
Gas is included in rent. You pay for Internet and electricity (around $100/month total, and a bit more when you use A/C)
Hi! I’m the owner of this apartment. I’m moving to another unit in the building with my partner, so we’re really committed to the building, the neighborhood, and the community here.
We are laid-back and flexible, yet reliable and are serious about accountability. We are not super handy full-time landlords, so and will handle things as best we can. We are fair and reasonable. We prioritize open, clear, and, responsive communication and expect the same from you. We will be part of the same community!
We take cleanliness seriously and expect you to take care of the space as if was your own. We will be good neighbors and will respect your privacy. We'd love for you to make it your space!
We want to keep things easy and low drama. Living in a building means there’s a bit of give and take — minor noises here and there, occasional car alarms or music from the street, and with a hospital nearby, sometimes sirens. If you have lived in New York building, you now what I am taking about. No pests, no surprises.
You will be in Little Caribbean! It’s a nice and quiet (and I'd say very lovely) neighborhood. Voted coolest neighborhood in NYC by Time Out New York in 2025 (google it)
We’re a couple in our early 40s with progressive views, just looking to cover expenses and keep the place running smoothly. We both work in the public sector trying to do good work and not aiming to make a profit off you. If you’re someone who’s responsible, considerate, and easy to get along with, this could be a great fit.
Se habla español.
We’re looking for someone responsible, easygoing, and generally solid — someone who’ll take care of the space and be thoughtful about sharing the building with longtime residents. The apartment is a great fit for one person or a couple.
We’ll ask for a few things:
Proof of income or ability to pay. This could be a recent pay stub, a bank statement, or a letter of employment — just something to show that rent won’t be a stretch for you.
Rental history: A prior lease, landlord reference, or anything that shows you’ve been a reliable tenant elsewhere.
First month’s rent and a one-month security deposit.
We may use a tenant screening tool with a small fee for you.
No exceptions about rent being paid on time.
Since this is technically a sublet, we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable keeping things chill and respectful around the building. We can put together a simple sublease agreement.
If you’re interested, have questions, or want to come take a look, reach out! Please serious inquires only. We value our time, have full-time jobs, and, like you, we are also moving!
Officially a no-pets building, but no one really enforces it. That said, we prefer no cats since I am really allergic.
