Brooklyn Trails Summer Nature-Based Teachers
Location: Prospect Park East (Lincoln Road and Ocean Ave Entrance), Brooklyn, NY
Dates: June 24th-August 31st (no class July 1st-5th)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Pay: $22 per hour
Brooklyn Trails is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Summer Nature-Based Teachers to join our team at Prospect Park East. If you are passionate about outdoor education and child-centered teaching, this is the perfect opportunity for you to come teach with us this summer!
Responsibilities:
-Lead engaging, artistic and educational outdoor activities and lessons for children aged 3-5 and 6-9 in Prospect Park.
-Foster a love for nature and promote environmental stewardship through hands-on experiences and exploration.
-Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care.
-Lead community circle time, facilitate ice-breakers and creative movement games.
-Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment with an emphasis on social-emotional learning.
-Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding program activities and children's progress.
Requirements:
-CPR certification (must be up to date or renewed by start date)
-Previous experience working in a professional environment with children
-Flexibility to work a minimum of 3 days a week
-Ability to work Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
-We are also looking for one candidate to work a two hour shifts Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 1:00pm-3:00pm
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Passion for outdoor education, art making and environmental conservation

Brooklyn Trails drop off and pick up is located within Prospect Park East, at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Ocean Ave. This beautiful natural setting provides the perfect backdrop for our nature-based education programs.
