We are a journalist and public interest lawyer temporarily relocating for a residency, and are offering our gorgeous, ample, extra-wide 4-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath Park Slope brownstone triplex for a year, fully furnished. It’s perfect for entertaining, raising your family, and working from home.
The brownstone is on a quiet, beautiful and well-located block in the PS 321 school district, a short walk from Prospect Park, and near the best restaurants, bakeries, groceries, and shops, all within walking distance. There's a large and newly renovated playground on our corner, with ballfields just beyond.
It's currently set up as follows: The parlor level (with two original marble mantles) is an open living/dining/kitchen area. From the dining area, there's a deck—including bbq, and built-in outdoor eating area—that leads down to a landscaped garden. The second floor has two bedrooms, each with a large living and working area, two large closets, and a full bath with washer/dryer. The top floor has a large bedroom with en suite Moroccan bath, walk-in closet, and another living room/office with working wood-burning fireplace, which is currently used as a guest room.
We will work with you to organize the space and set up furniture so it works for you. We are also flexible about the length of the rental.
We’ve lovingly designed this home over 30 years for maximum beauty and comfort. In addition to its original wood floors, large windows, and a working fireplace, it has a Moroccan jacuzzi bath with heated towel racks, private deck, extra-large living room, washer-dryer conveniently located on the second floor, and thoughtful touches throughout. We're currently landscaping the front yard and deck, so it will only get more beautiful before you arrive.
Each room has its own air conditioning and heat. The home is powered by solar energy, and is heated and cooled by a high-efficiency heat pump
It’s an easy walk to multiple subway lines, and you can walk to BAM, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Barclays Center, the Public Library On Sundays, there’s a farmer’s market a block away.
There’s so much more, if you’re interested, let’s talk!
We're neat but not perfectionists. We love to cook and have people over for dinner, and most days we walk or bike in Prospect Park (and sometimes cross-country ski.) When we're not cooking we're eating at one of the many really good restaurants that have popped up in Park Slope recently (or we are eating further afield.) We love books, biking (in the summer we bike to the beach) and are huge fans of the New York Liberty WNBA basketball team.
We're looking for people to care for and love our home as we do.
We're showing our home by arrangement. We'll need credit a report, 2 years of tax returns, rental or ownership history, and references.
It's currently pet free, but pets can be discussed.
