Caregiver for Young Woman with Profound Autism: Saturday/Sunday

We’re looking for a caring, creative, and reliable caregiver to support a modestly verbal young adult woman with profound autism on Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional overnight shifts are also possible.

Pay: From $30/hour

Schedule: Saturdays from 4PM-9PM and Sundays from 4PM-9PM with one Sunday a month from 10AM-4PM. Occasional weekday coverage is possible.

Location: Upper West Side

Key Responsibilities:
-Support daily living tasks with prompting (bathing, brushing hair/teeth, dressing)
-Help with hygiene and medication administration (pills only, per printed schedule)
-Heat and plate pre-prepared meals
-Encourage independence and appropriate behavior in home and community settings
-Engage in preferred and new leisure activities at home and in classes (drawing, music, puzzles)
-Support during physical activities (yoga, swimming, treadmill) alongside instructors
-Promote smooth transitions and use of behavioral strategies during challenging moments

Qualifications:
-Experienced with high-needs individuals (personal or professional)
-Patient, proactive, and collaborative
-Must be a competent swimmer
-Comfortable with occasional physical outbursts
-Works well with a close-knit, supportive team
-Driving is a plus, but not required
