Welcome to our bright, plant-filled, personality-packed home directly across from Madison Square Park with cute views of the park and the Empire State Building right from the window. Sunsets here are magic ✨ We're looking for a single person or a couple to look after the place for 6 months while we take our cats for a half year abroad.
$4,900/month — or $4,300/month if you’re okay with us using the second bedroom (the windowless one) as storage!
🌿 The Space:
- 2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom
The primary bedroom is spacious, airy, and gets beautiful natural light with a canopy bed
The second bedroom doesn’t have windows and is currently set up as a home office. You’re welcome to use it as an office or flex space.
- Large living room with high ceilings, tons of plants, and cozy seating.
- Separate kitchen with full-size gas stove (gas is included!), great storage, and plenty of counter space for cooking.
- Bathroom with full tub and bright lighting.
- Hallway will be cleared (we’ll remove the Litter Robot + rest of the cat stuff and reposition the pantry so the walkway is open and tidy).
- Building is super small with limited units and a responsive super. If anything stops working, we can submit a ticket and have him come over.
💡 Utilities:
- Gas included
- You cover internet + electric
🚇 Transportation: All major lines go here
N / R / W at 23rd St
6 at 23rd St
F / M at 23rd St
1 at 23rd St (a short walk)
And a quick stroll to PATH at 23rd as well
And a 10 min walk to the Union Square stop with tons of other lines
🌟 Location Perks
- Groceries hot spot: We get our main groceries from the Union Square Farmers Market that’s there on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Super fresh. For everything else, there’s a nearby Whole Foods that closes at 10pm. For specialty groceries, there’s an Eataly across the park, an Hmart over in Ktown, and Ten Ichi a block away.
- Gyms: You're within 5 min of Chelsea Piers (we use this one, it’s the best!), Equinox, Lifetime, and NYSC
- Endless restaurants, cafés, and shops
🧺 A few cons
- No dishwasher :(
- No elevator but only one easy flight of stairs!
- No laundry in the building but we use a great laundry service and can share the recs!
- Most of our furniture will stay, but we’re flexible: if you have a nicer couch, we’re open to swapping.
📦 Storage Options
We can put clothes and personal items into storage so you have plenty of space. However, if you don’t need the second bedroom and let us store things in there, we’ll reduce rent to $4,300.
We are a couple that's been in NYC for 10 years now (officially New Yorkers?) and are looking for a small change so we'll be taking our cats with us for a half year abroad. We're both brand consultants and work remotely so this apartment is great if you're there a lot or just need somewhere locationally convenient to sleep!
We are the current tenants and love this space - landlord is super lowkey and the other tenants are honestly barely there. You may here people in the hallways, but whisper windows make it super quiet in the bedroom.
