About this Service

If you’ve lived with chronic pain, migraines, vertigo, fatigue, insomnia, digestive issues, or other persistent symptoms for months or years—and treatments haven’t fully helped—you’re not alone. Years of clinical research has shown that chronic symptoms are strongly influenced by how the brain and nervous system learn to process pain, stress, and emotion.

Rewire is a 16-week online course that teaches you how to retrain those patterns.

Drawing on modern brain science and the work of dozens of therapists, scientists, and practitioners—and informed by Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET)—the course offers a clear, structured process for teaching deep, embodied safety to the brain. In many ways, the work is less like traditional treatment and more like physical therapy for your brain.

Each week we meet live over Zoom for psychoeducation, guided exercises, and group coaching. You’ll also receive step-by-step guided audio practices and worksheets to integrate the work into your life. The group format provides support and accountability in a way that most treatments—even one-on-one coaching—cannot.

The goal of the course is to improve the quality of your life and to soothe brain patterns that keep stress and symptoms active. As those patterns shift, many people also find that their symptoms lessen or resolve.

The course is created and led by pain recovery coach Jacob Slominski, whose work is informed by his own 15-year recovery journey and several years helping clients recover from chronic pain using mind-body approaches.

This will be the inaugural cohort of Rewire. To keep the experience intimate and supportive, the group size will be limited and the course is being offered at a lower-than-normal rate. The course runs on Thursdays beginning May 21st.

About this Lister

I grew up in San Diego and studied insects and then dance before I moved to Brooklyn to begin a performance career. I stopped dancing for a decade owing to pain, and recovered using Pain Reprocessing Therapy. I now work full-time as a chronic pain coach.

I live by the Hudson River with my wife and daughter, and I love roaming local waterways by kayak, roller skating, visiting cemeteries, and doing live performance work.

Background and Expertise

Drawing from my background in dance and Zen practice and my own 15-year recovery, I support clients using Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, JournalSpeak, Permission to Move, and several somatic and therapeutic practices including singing, drawing, inquiry, and Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques.

I have a degree from Cornell University, I'm finishing a Master's degree in disability studies, and I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
