My partner Tristan and I are moving to NYC in January — I'm teaching at Columbia and Tristan has an office in Union Square.
We're looking for a furnished short-term sublet to use as a home base while we search for a long-term place near our friends and community in Brooklyn, near Prospect Park.
Our ideal space...
- Has desk/workspace for remote work days
- Has in-unit laundry
- Is available from mid-January through March or April
Our budget & timeline are flexible depending on the space.
Any neighborhood works — would love to find a place where we can settle in comfortably during our transition to the city.
We're quiet and respectful tenants with no pets. Happy to provide references.
We’re a couple in our 30s moving to New York from our current home in South Pasadena, CA.
Tristan (he/him) grew up in Los Angeles and Barbara (she/her) grew up in Michigan. Tristan works in music tech, with a background in recording, touring, and music education. Barbara works in nonprofits supporting independent film, focusing on building audiences for movie theaters and film festivals.
Barbara previously lived in NYC while in graduate school at Columbia, and Tristan’s dad grew up in Bed Stuy.
We are moving to New York for job changes and a change of pace. We both have big communities of friends and family in the city.
We are quiet, respectful tenants with no pets.
